My name is Jason Hankins. I have been a full time career firefighter paramedic for 22 years and counting. Currently, I remain in the service with full time commitments that also extend deeply into law enforcement and FEMA. That said, I am building Leonidas Leatherworks as I set my eyes upon retirement in the upcoming years. I have always been an artist. Leather work gives me the chance to keep in touch with the field of work that has been such a huge part of my life while helping me to retire with a small supplemental income. For now… while I am still employed full time AND THEN SOME… building this business and working leather, is something I have to do between full time shift work, law enforcement trainings, FEMA trainings, emergency call-outs, teaching classes, and of course the requisite duties of being a family man. Therefore, I thank-you deeply and humbly for your orders and support while also extending additional gratitude to you for your patience as you wait for your hand crafted leather products. Leatherwork does take time. A great deal of it. More so, in a small one man shop. Please be patient.
I have also been involved in Japanese sword arts of iaido and kendo for 22 years and run a non-profit dojo with a teaching license from Japan. You will see my love and interest also reflected in my leatherwork here at Leonidas under the Sword Arts category of products.
When you order from me, I can guarantee that I am the sole worker of your leather that will inspect, cut, mold, stamp, die, edge, punch and etc. Every step of the way, start to finish, your leather is in my hands. I take pride and enjoyment in the task and do my upmost to deliver the best product that I can. As I craft and work the leather, so to do I work upon myself.
Again, thank-you for your orders, your support, and your patience.
